CUTIES has caused a social media storm after being released on Netflix.
Viewers have called for the film to be removed from the streaming site as they claim it "sexualises young girls".

Who stars in Cuties and how old are they?
Cuties tells the story of a girl who joins a "twerking dance squad".
The fictional French film tells the story of 11-year-old Amy, raised in a traditional Senegalese Muslim household, who sets her sights on joining a "twerking squad" at her school, as they compete to win a dance competition.
But many have called it uncomfortable viewing, as the girls in the cast are considered "too young" to be performing dances which are inappropriate for their age.
Here we take you through who is starring in the film, and how old they are in real life.
Fathia Youssouf as Amy
According to Fathia's official Instagram page she is 14 - in the film she plays an 11 year old.
The teenage actress plays the lead role of Amy in Cuties.
Her character is a girl originally from Senegal who lives in Paris with her single mother and two brothers.
This is Fathia's first ever role, and she doesn't have any other acting credits to her name.
The actress was selected as one of 650 kids who auditioned for the same role.
Medina El Aidi-Azouni as Angelica
Medina, who plays Angelica in the Netflix movie, is reportedly the youngest cast member.
The actress is just 12 years old.
Similar to her co-star Fathia, this is Medina’s debut into the world of acting.
According to the Hollywood Reporter Medina is a French actor born and raised in Paris.
Esther Gohourou as Coumba
Esther is 14 years old and again this is her first acting role.
She plays Coumba in the Netflix movie, one of the girls in the dance group that Fathia’s character Amy joins.
Coumba is one of the “cool girls” who Amy looks up to and starts dressing like.
Ilanah Cami-Goursolas as Jess
Ilanah, who plays Jess in the Netflix film, is 14.
She also is marking her debut into the world of acting with Cuties.
Similar to Medina and Esther, Ilanah’s Instagram profile is also private.
However, on her account, Ilanah writes that she is a dancer and actor.

When was Cuties released on Netflix?
Despite a massive outcry, the film dropped on the site on September 9.
It is avaliable for Netflix subscribers to watch now.
However, there have been calls from people to boycott the streaming site until they remove it.
