MACKENZIE Edwards has shared an emotional post on social media as her ex Ryan celebrates his birthday with his current girlfriend.
The former couple split early last year, and Ryan has since been in and out of prison due to drugs, harassment, and other charges.
On Wednesday, Mackenzie, 27, reshared a video to her Instagram Stories discussing the ups and downs of parenting.
In the short clip, it read: "To be a good mother while my heart was breaking was one of the hardest roles I've ever had to play."
In the next slide, the video continued: "It's crazy how our kids look up to us as superheroes but in reality they are the ones that saved us."
The Teen Mom star's emotional post came about a week after her ex Ryan, 36, was released early from prison, weeks before his original date.

EARLY RELEASE
On December 23, Ryan's judge, Gary Starnes, reportedly ordered for him to be released as soon as possible, according to The Ashley Reality Roundup.
The outlet reported that Ryan was back with Amanda in time for Christmas, and will also be free for the New Year, with his new hearing scheduled for January 2.
The outlet did not reveal a reason for Ryan's sudden release.
Ryan was arrested during a December 5 court hearing after District Attorney Coty Wamp told Starnes that he failed to follow the terms of his plea deal.

On his December 8 hearing, it was established that the MTV star had passed his drug test but failed to fulfil other terms of his probation.
Starnes initially seemed in favor of a firm sentence for Ryan, saying of the drug test: "There was plenty of time for him to get it out of his system from the time took the test."
He also said: “I don't know how many more opportunities Mr. Edwards is entitled to.
"He has failed to do what he’s supposed to. He’s been revoked and put in jail for almost three months. He’s had violations at Oasis and CADAS, but they didn’t kick him out."
The judge demanded of Ryan's counsel: "He wants to stand here and ask for more time to do it. How many more chances does Mr. Edwards think he’s going to get?
"What do you think when he doesn’t follow the program? He has gotten so many chances and every single time he got an opportunity to do things he should’ve been doing. Now he’s back again."
RYAN'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
Ryan and his new girlfriend Amanda Conner - who he met in rehab - have expressed their love on social media.
On Wednesday - the same day as Mackenzie's posts about being heartbroken - Amanda to her Instagram Stories to post a video on behalf of her partner's special day.
The blonde shared a clip of a bouquet of black balloons, one reading: "Happy birthday," and the others in the shape of a three and a six.
Amanda captioned her post: "Happy birthday to my man!!"
'NOT A GOOD INFLUENCE'
However, people close to the couple have shared their concerns about Ryan and Amanda's relationship.
A source told The U.S. Sun: "Choosing to use your time on and the type of people you’re surrounding yourself with is not OK.
"This girl is dangerous."
A different insider also exclusively told The U.S. Sun that Amanda is well known in Chattanooga for her bad reputation.
They claimed: "Amanda is trouble. She has been in and out of the system since she was old enough to catch a charge.
"She is not a good influence on Ryan."
Amanda, who once appeared on Jerry Springer, has been in and out of jail from around 2009 up until a few months ago for charges including drug possession and driving under the influence.
MACK SPEAKS OUT
Despite previous speculation that Mack and Ryan might get back together, the MTV alum squashed any chance of a reconciliation.
“For 2024, the kids and I are going forward, not backwards," Mackenzie revealed in an interview with The Ashley's Reality Roundup.
The reality star also addressed a video she recently shared and deleted on her Instagram Stories that showed her, Ryan, and their daughter, Stella, eating at a hibachi restaurant.
Many wondered if the clip meant the pair's relationship was on the mend, but Mackenzie clarified that's not the case.

"This was an old video," she told the outlet, noting that Stella's birthday was Monday.
"He is wearing his wedding ring in the video because we were married at the time," the MTV star explained.
