TODAY stars Savannah Guthrie and Jill Martin have revealed a major first for the morning show on Tuesday.
The two joined together to make the on-air announcement, and Jill soon revealed the fan response to the show addition was exceptional.
Jill began teasing the news on Monday night.
The Today lifestyle contributor shared an old photo of herself and Savannah on the Today show set in roller skates to her Instagram Story.
Captioning the shot, she wrote: “Never know what Savannah Guthrie and I are up to!
“Tomorrow we are debuting something new…!!!"

Continuing to get fans excited about the announcement, Jill posted a picture from the Today show makeup room on Tuesday morning.
She wore gold patches under her eyes and had her hair half done as her glam squad smiled next to her.
Jill wrote alongside the snap: “Big, new segment coming today!”
“PS these eye patches are part of it,” she added.

In another behind-the-scenes post, Jill shared a video from the Today set and revealed there would be a “special edition” of Steals & Deals during the show.
At the start of the segment, Savannah announced: “We’ve got a very special Steals & Deals. I’m excited, Jill.
"Have we ever done this before?”
Jill enthusiastically told her co-star: “No, this is the first time!”
After realizing the teleprompter also told her it was a new addition to the show, Savannah read aloud: “This is the first-ever Shop Today holiday gift box.
“It’s full of hand-picked favorites from beauty to home and more.
“You will receive everything here in a beautifully packaged box. It’s ready for gifting.”
Of how the idea came about, Jill said she saw so many other shows and magazines have best-of gift boxes and wanted one for Today.
“I said, ‘We have the best team here. We know from the best,'" she said.
The lifestyle contributor continued: "So we tried out tons of products, and we picked a gift box that comes in a box with a bow with a QR code that leads to more deals, with a note from us."
Fans on social media shared how excited they were about the new product, though some said they were unable to nab one as it had already sold out.
Jill was quick to see a lot of these comments and shared that there will be similar opportunities in the future.
