Tracy Morgan has been made to look like the bad guy in a family dispute thanks to a CBS news story orchestrated by his estranged mother Alicia Warden.
The 30 Rock celeb, worth $18 million according to Forbes, had a falling out with his family over a decade ago, and learned in a phone call from Walden recently that she will lose her Youngstown, Ohio home to foreclosure if she can’t come up with $25,000 by the end of February.
Mama was shocked when the actor’s accountant returned her call and offered up $2,000. Walden refused the offer and decided to take her case to the court of public opinion, sharing her story with CBS affiliate WKBN-TV.
Morgan issued his own statement today: “I am saddened that these untrue stories about me have people questioning my commitment to my family.”
He went on to say, “For reasons that are between us, I have not seen my mother in 11 years, and outside of a random call here and there have had little to no contact with my sister. We all have personal family issues that we have to deal with in life, but I choose to deal with mine in private and not through the media.”
